fresh ... local ... sustainable and organic ... a weekend in Newport ... aka party central

So for my very first weekend off I got to do something very very exciting!!! I went and stayed at my sisters apartment in Newport Beach ... which is pretty much where all the young people are ... My day began on saturday at the crack of dawn going to a clients house for a garage sale ... that i had to run ... so here is the thing the day before i spent 6 hours pricing things ... organizing them ... and making a list for this lady to accomplish once she got home from work ... she has 3 boys so when i left i said tell your mom to read the note i left her on the counter its VERY important ... well the boys could have cared less ... and this lady doesn't like to answer her phone or listen to your messages so denise and i show up the next morning at 7 am ... (the sale starts at 8) she had no signs up or directional guides ... she had none of the bazillion pieces of furniture she was selling out of the house ... she had nothing set up ... no prices for her antique furniture ... none of the furniture she was selling out of her garage everything was buried ... she had no change or penny cash to use for the sale ... she essentially did NOTHING i had asked her to do ... by this point im thinking this sale wont happen ... end of story ... WRONG ... she had me lug all of the stupid heavy furniture out onto the lawn ... and im not talking little side tables people ... im talking dinning room tables ... desks ... large dressers ... I WANTED TO DIE ... i thought all my muscles and tendons were going to snap ... im probably a lot stronger now that i carried lifted and moved that furniture ... anyway the sale was a joke ... she obviously had no idea what she was doing ... she should have just given everything away for free because she would say "give me your best offer ... honestly i could care less about the money so just really i don care whatever you think" ... i wanted to help her but i let her drown ... it was her choice to do what she did ... i helped her and made it easy for her day to be successful ... but she denied the help she was paying for ... whatever ... after that i got to go see Katy ... we went to Fashion Island which is a fantastic outdoor mall ... which seemed amazing until i found out there was no H&M ... so we left there and went to Irvine Mall which is the bomb.com ... it had tons of stores ... music ... ferris wheel ... and an H&M ... i spent a good 2 hours in that store ... i tried on some fabulous things ... but i must say that the clothing i came away with are GREAT !!! so excited to wear everything ... we shopped until 10 o'clock and then went to starbs and headed back to the apartment ... oh and did i mention we were "borrowing" kyle's audi brand new convertible ... driving in style ... roof down ... music up ... it was like something you would see on the hills ... great times ... we got some humus and yogurt and berries for dinner ... watched bounty hunter which i feel asleep during the first 10 min. then went to bed ... got up this morning late ... we were supposed to go run 7 miles ... didn't happen ... to exhausted ... but we went to a church called Rock Harbor ... BEST CHURCH EVER ... its my new home church i have decided ... they have a campus right beside FIDM :) .... it made my whole weekend ... leaving for a month and being away and missing everyone was worth it just to find this church ... i felt at home it was FANTASTIC !!! after a great service we went to "the camp" aka the anti - mall ... this is a hard place to explain but look at my Facebook uploads ... it was essentially a really artsy organic type of mall ... after eating there and having a fabulous brunch we went shopping again ... found some GREAT stuff including a great pair of heels that are my new favorite shoes mainly due to their comfort ... :) ... we got back to the house ... made dinner .... I went and did my devotions on the beach with Katy it was great and so wonderful to sit in the sun and enjoy God's gorgeous creation .... don't get me wrong the beach was packed full of people and crowded and loud but it still had a peace about it ... anyway overall my weekend was SO great .... and i wish i could do a better job at describing it but i cant ... because you just had to be there ...
